The Call for Sites (launched on 31 January 2024) invites the public to submit their ideas and thoughts to the local authority to help shape the future of the borough through the Walsall Borough Local Plan. This may include ideas for sites that could be suitable for new buildings, homes, jobs, community use - or land they would like to see protected.Residents, businesses and landowners can submit their ideas via the <a href="https://walsallboroughlocalplan.commonplace.is/">Walsall Borough Local Plan Commonplace page</a>. By dropping a pin on an interactive map and suggesting a use for a site, people are encouraged to share any ideas, big or small, for derelict sites and vacant land in their communities.The results from the call for sites will help to influence and inform plan preparation, so residents, businesses and landowners in Walsall are encouraged to take part. Walsall Borough Local Plan Call for Sites

The We Are Walsall 2040 Roadshow will hit the road again this February and March following a successful launch last year. The roadshow has already made 10 visits across the borough, with the aim of providing information and gathering feedback on our long-term vision for the future of Walsall. Invaluable views were heard throughout the initial dates, with key areas of discussion raised including crime, leisure, culture and littering. During the first set of visits, the We Are Walsall 2040 team travelled around the borough, stopping at key locations including Pelsall, Aldridge, Walsall’s Knife Angel event and Walsall Football Club.

We Are Walsall Roadshow returns this February and March 2024

As part of the We Are Walsall 2040 initiative, the roadshow aims to create a sense of community engagement and collaboration, providing a platform for residents to learn more about the long-term vision for the borough whilst learning how they can play an active role in delivering this vision alongside the We Are Walsall 2040 partners. “I am thrilled to see the launch of the We Are Walsall 2040 Roadshow. This initiative marks a pivotal moment for our borough, where residents are not merely spectators but active contributors to the vision that will shape Walsall&#39;s future. ‘We are Walsall 2040’ is our strategic borough plan that outlines everyone’s shared ambitions for what the borough should be like by 2040. 

It will be informed by the views, experiences, ideas and ambitions of those who live, work, study, visit and do business in the borough.
